Cover of Road to Success: 5 Game Changing EPC Strategies by Manu Gupta

"I have spent most of my working life building sheds. The book is about what goes wrong."

Manu Gupta is the founder-director of MNF Metals & Forming, building the company from its first roll-forming line in 2005 into a trusted manufacturing partner for India's airports, metro, infrastructure, and industrial roofing projects.

His book, Road to Success: 5 Game Changing EPC Strategies, is written for owners and contractors who have watched a project slip on cost or time and want to know where it went wrong. The five strategies are summarised on the book page, no email required.

"Identify and onboard multiple suppliers and vendors for critical materials and equipment to reduce dependency on a single source."

Road to Success, chapter 3, page 51

How a project runs, and how we quote

Six steps from your first call to the sheets on the roof, and the basis on which every quote is written.

  1. Send a drawing or an areaBy WhatsApp, email or the form below. A sketch with dimensions is enough to start.
  2. We usually call back the same working dayTo confirm the profile, thickness, coating and quantities before anything is priced.
  3. Standard sheets and purlins are usually priced within one working dayLarger or unusual orders take a little longer. PEB structures get a budgetary quote within three working days of drawing review, and a detailed quote after a site visit.
  4. Design and draftingDone in-house. You approve the drawings before anything is rolled.
  5. Roll-forming and inspection at our plantEvery dispatch leaves with the coil's mill test certificate and our inspection report.
  6. Dispatch and erectionSheets up to 12 m by road. Erection by our own teams where you want it.

Questions buyers ask us

How do I know which roofing specification is actually right for my project?

There is no “one-size-fits-all” roofing specification. The right choice depends on factors such as location, roof slope, structural design, environmental exposure, expected service life and application requirements. MNF evaluates these factors to recommend the appropriate steel grade, base metal thickness, coating system, paint specification and profile before production or quotation.

Is the lowest roofing price really the lowest cost?

Not always. A lower ₹/sqm or ₹/kg price may come with differences in base metal thickness, coating mass, steel grade or paint system. These differences can directly affect durability and long-term performance. We encourage customers to compare roofing systems on a like-for-like technical specification, not price alone.

Two roofing quotations look similar. How do I know which one is actually better?

Never compare roofing quotations on price alone. Check whether both suppliers are offering the same BMT/TCT, steel grade, metallic coating, paint system, profile, effective cover width, fasteners, accessories, warranty, freight and installation scope. MNF provides clear technical specifications so you can compare quotations on an apples-to-apples basis.

Should I choose GI, GL or colour coated roofing?

The right material depends on where the building is located, what environment it operates in and how long the roof is expected to perform. Normal industrial, humid, coastal and chemically aggressive environments can require different protection systems. MNF recommends the material and coating system based on the actual application rather than simply promoting one product for every project.

Can one manufacturer handle my roofing, purlins, flashings and other components?

Yes. MNF manufactures a range of building-envelope and structural components, including roofing and cladding profiles, C/Z purlins, flashings and other formed components. Coordinating these requirements through one manufacturing source can simplify procurement, dimensional coordination and project execution.

Can MNF manufacture roofing components exactly as per our drawings and specifications?

Yes. MNF works with project drawings, BOQs and technical specifications to manufacture project-specific lengths, profiles and formed components within our manufacturing capabilities. Every requirement is technically reviewed before production to ensure that the proposed solution aligns with the project's design and application.

Do you only manufacture roofing material, or can MNF execute the complete project?

MNF's involvement can extend beyond material manufacturing. Depending on the project scope and location, we can support installation and project execution. For existing industrial buildings, our capabilities also include roof inspection, repair, maintenance and reroofing, helping customers manage the roof beyond its initial installation.

How can I be certain that the material delivered is what I actually ordered?

A roofing purchase should never depend solely on trust. The supplied material should be traceable, technically verifiable and supported by appropriate manufacturer documentation and quality checks. MNF focuses on transparent specifications and verification so customers can clearly understand what was specified, what was manufactured and what was supplied.
